residence-life-header

On behalf of the Office of Residence Life, I would like to welcome you to our residential community which we hope you will be proud to call your home away from home. I want to invite you to explore the many opportunities, services, and resources that we provide.

The Mission of the Office of Residence Life is to encourage students to be successful and responsible citizens by creating an atmosphere that promotes learning, respectful dialogue, physical comfort and safety.

Learning and education never end at the classroom door. We strive to create living-learning communities that stimulate the educational and social development of our students outside of the classroom through the various programs and opportunities we provide on a daily basis.

There are many advantages to living on campus: the proximity to classes and activities, rich social interactions and the access to many programs offered in the residential community that contribute to academic and personal success of students. We strongly encourage you to get involved, show your school spirit (support our Hornet athletic teams), and leave your mark on our vibrant campus community.

The best part of my day is getting to meet with students; we want to hear from you! If there is an activity you would like to see in the residence halls or ideas you have to improve your residential experience contact us and we will be happy to discuss your ideas. If you have any questions or would just like to stop by and say hello please feel free to do so. The resident director and resident assistant staffs are very important resources available to assist you in your transition to the residential environment.

We count on all members of our community to take personal responsibility for creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive living-learning community. I encourage you to take advantage of the many opportunities that await you, here at Shenandoah University. And I look forward to seeing you at campus events and in the residence halls.

Wishing you much success!
