One of Shenandoah University’s core values is “dedication to citizenship, professional service and global outreach”.

“Being able to go out and know your life is affecting others is a wonderful feeling. Time is the most important gift we can give anyone, and giving that gift on a Saturday morning, when you could sleep in, is the kind of thing life is all about.” – Micah Melton, business major

This is your chance to reach out to the community by volunteering with local non-profit groups. Several times a semester, students and faculty have a great time spending a Saturday:

  • working with at-risk kids at Boys’ and Girls’ Club
  • building with Habitat for Humanity
  • harvesting surplus produce from area farms
  • helping stock a local food pantry
  • entertaining at a local nursing home
  • sorting at the recycling center
  • working at the SPCA
  • and more, as you request it!

No experience is required-just sign up and come along. We provide transportation – you provide the heart for service and the desire to build relationships in town. Check us out on Facebook to see who’s already onboard and see more great pictures!
